Local Place Plan

The Community Council has prepared a draft Local Place Plan, based on a community survey carried out in Autumn 2025.
This is the community’s plan, based on our aspirations. Once it has been finished and registered by Dumfries and Galloway Council later in 2026, it will be used to influence future planning policy - as well as being our community’s calling card for investment and action.

The month-long public consultation on the draft plan closed on 20 May 2026.  We are now updating the plan in response to comments received, but you can still see the draft Plan and a summary below..

The finalised plan will be agreed by the Community Council over the summer and submitted to Dumfries and Galloway Council for registration as our Local Place Plan; we anticipate that will happen at the Council's Annandale and Eskdale Area Committee on 23rd September 2026.
